Kathy DiCenzo: Secretary. Kathy is a freelance project manager and German to English translator. She began her career in translation with a translation internship in Germany in 1986 and has been hooked since. After receiving her degree in German language and culture from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, she promptly moved to Japan where she studied Japanese for 2.5 years. Upon her return in 1997, Kathy took her first translation project management job at Allegro Translations in Madison, Wisconsin where she first learned about Trados and localization project management. She has since worked for several other translation and localization companies, and is finally realizing her dream as a freelance project manager and German to English translator. She has worn many hats (including interpretation and voice over project manager, functional tester and consultant) and loves working with French, Italian, Spanish as well as German in tasks such as Trados TM maintenance (including WinAlign projects) and incorporating in-country reviewer changes. As former Colorado Translators Association President and freelancer, Kathy has organized many translation-related seminars, webinars and conferences and has managed logistics for several Localization World conferences. Kathy and her husband decided to escape the harsh winters of Wisconsin more than ten years ago and, when not at her computer, can regularly be spotted skiing, hiking, mountain biking or otherwise enjoying the nearly 300 sunny days that Colorado delivers with her two sons and husband.
