Registration open for 8th Annual CTA Conference in Boulder: Learning Never Ends
Denver, CO – Registration for the 8th Annual Conference of the Colorado Translators Association is now open! Join CTA at the scenic NCAR Mesa Labs in Boulder, April 27-29, for a conference packed with learning opportunities for translators and interpreters.
This year, CTA is delighted to welcome Marta Stelmaszak Rosa, a Polish and English translator and invited speaker at over 20 conferences all over the world. Marta will deliver the keynote address on Saturday on how translators, when faced with challenges, unfavorable conditions or tough competition, have to constantly reinvent themselves and their careers to land on their feet. Marta will also conduct a workshop on Sunday on how to devise a business strategy aimed at direct clients.
This year’s conference features a varied slate of twelve breakout sessions focusing on topics of interest for anyone working with languages, whether as a newcomer or as a seasoned professional. From Search Engine Optimization to Translation as Adaptation, Website Design Dos and Don’ts to Tales of Conference Interpreting, and Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, this conference covers a wide spectrum of issues encountered during the every-day lives of translators and interpreters.
Presenters travel to Colorado from out of state and even out of the country to speak at this conference, which draws nearly 100 attendees over the weekend. The conference starts with a sitting of the certification exam for the American Translators Association on Friday, which is the only standardized test for translators in the United States.
An early bird discount is available for registration until March 25, 2018. That day is also the cutoff date to reserve a hotel room under CTA´s room block at the Hilton Garden Inn in Boulder. For a complete program and registration, visit: https://cta-web.org/2018-annual-cta-conference/
