CTA Opens Call for Papers for Its 8th Annual Conference
Denver, CO – The Colorado Translators Association officially opened the call for papers for its 8th Annual CTA Conference, to be held April 27 to 29, 2018, once again at the scenic National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder.
CTA is looking for individual presentations, joint presentations, or panels. Potential topics should be relevant to translators and interpreters of various backgrounds, from novices to seasoned professionals.
The CTA Board is excited to have Marta Stelmaszak Rosa as our keynote speaker AND workshop presenter! In her keynote address, “The 9 Lives of a Translator,” Marta will focus on the challenges, unfavorable conditions and tough competition that forces translators to constantly reinvent themselves and their careers. She will explore the importance of lifelong learning, continuous business development, and career planning.
“After a longer break from attending translation events, I’m really looking forward to meeting all wonderful colleagues at the Colorado Translators Association conference,” Marta said. “I’m sure it’s going to be a great event and we’ll all learn a lot.”
The Colorado Translators Association, a chapter of the American Translators Association, started hosting its own annual conference for translators and interpreters in 2010. Since then, the conference has grown into one of the premier CPD events for language professionals from the United States and beyond, drawing some of the most accomplished speakers of the industry. In 2017, the conference attracted 85 attendees on Saturday and 45 on Sunday.
